
Prisoner's release postponed for 6 months

	WAN - The release of Erdal Canan, a prisoner in Van Type-F High Security Closed Prison, was postponed for 6 months on the grounds that "he has no remorse" with the decision of the Administration and Observation Board

	Erdal Canan was sentenced to 11 years and 6 months by Hakkari Heavy Penal Court No 2 in 2016 for "terrorist organization membership". Canan completed his sentence on 13 April. However, on 12 April, Canan's release was extended by 6 months with a board decision.&nbsp;

	Canan has not been subjected to any disciplinary penalties, was released on the grounds that he did not consider the PKK as a "terrrorist organization" and "do not feel remorse". Canan's release will be re-evaluated on 13 October. &nbsp;
