During the meeting, work on the new constitution and the process towards the solution of the Kurdish question were discussed.   The heads of 16 bar associations in Kurdistan visited the Parliamentary Group of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party. DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan and the accompanying delegation welcomed the bar association chairs. During the visit information was exchanged on how the process regarding the new constitution and the Kurdish issue will proceed legally, the approach of the Parliament on this issue and the plans.    The bar associations handed over to Bakırhan the files they had prepared on the process, including legal, constitutional and social studies. Bakırhan thanked the heads of bar associations for their visit and stated that the process is a process of resolving the Kurdish problem, which has been repeating itself for 40 years, through talks, negotiations and democracy.   Bakırhan, on the other hand, told the heads of the bar associations that the work they had done was very valuable and important and that they expected similar work from other professional organisations, chambers and non-governmental organisations to contribute to the process. Bakırhan stated that the Kurdish people believe in and support the process and said, "We need to make an approach that sees Kurds as brothers and sisters dominant. If this process goes ahead, it will democratise Turkey and protect it from the fires in the region."   Bakırhan told the bar association chairs that they would evaluate their suggestions and reports in their work.   VISIT TO CHP   The heads of bar associations then met with Özgür Özel, Chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP). The meeting was closed to the press.
