Kayyım put 100 real estates worth 2 billion TL up for sale in 7 months 2025-09-21 13:43:01   WAN - Ozan Balcı, the kayyım (trustee) of Wan (Van) Metropolitan Municipality, put 100 real estates up for sale in 7 months with an estimated value of 2 billion TL.    The kayyım of the Wan Metropolitan Municipality, continued the sale of real estates with an estimated price of 2 billion TL. The trustee, whose estimated price of 100 real estates he put up for sale in 7 months exceeded 2 billion TL, recently put up for sale 19 real estates belonging to the municipality in Eskicami and Yenicami neighbourhoods of Edremit district for 240 million TL.    The lowest and highest sale price of the lands was determined as 7 and 26 million TL, respectively. The tender in question will be the 5th tender to be made by the kayyım in the 7 months he was appointed.    The municipality had previously put 47 real estates in Edremit for sale with a total estimated price of 929.3 million TL.    The Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects (TMMOB) is preparing to file a lawsuit for the cancellation of the real estate sales.    CHP Van Provincial Presidency, on the other hand, expressed its reaction to the previous sales by saying "Municipality-owned real estates are being privatised one by one. The kayyım administration is disposing of the people's property".    The Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party had labelled the real estates sale as "politically motivated".    It was revealed that the former Wan Metropolitan Municipality kayyım bought shawls for 2 million 120 thousand TL and chocolates for 721 thousand TL in the 31 March 2024 Local Elections.    It was also revealed that the kayyım purchased gold for 12 thousand 636 TL, a catering package costing 30 thousand TL and stationery materials for 147 thousand TL for the Health Affairs Department.
