100,000 people displaced in Lebanon in 24 hours

NEWS CENTER – It was announced that 100,000 people were forced to flee in Lebanon in the last 24 hours due to attacks by Israel.
 
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) reported that the number of people fleeing their homes due to Israeli attacks on Lebanon continues to rise. According to the organization, more than 100,000 additional people were forced to leave their homes in the past 24 hours.
 
Karolina Lindholm Billing, UNHCR representative in Lebanon, said in Geneva that the number of displaced people registered on the government’s online platform has exceeded 667,000.
 
ISRAELI ATTACKS CONTINUE
 
The Israeli army carried out an attack near the southern coastal city of Tyre. A combat unit belonging to the 36th Division of the Israeli army was also deployed to southern Lebanon on March 9. The same night, heavy clashes were reported between the Israeli army and Hezbollah in the Khiam area.
 
DEATH TOLL RISING
 
According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, at least 486 people have been killed and 1,313 wounded in Israeli attacks carried out since March 2. The ministry did not provide details on how many of the dead were civilians or fighters.
 
In recent days, the Israeli army has intensified its airstrikes particularly on the southern suburbs of Beirut, southern Lebanon, and the Bekaa Valley.
