All displaced from Efrîn have returned

NEWS CENTRE – A convoy consisting of 1,700 families who were displaced has reached Efrîn (Afrin).

The return of families who were forced to flee Efrîn following the attack by Turkey and paramilitary forces to Efrîn territory continues under the agreement signed on 29 January between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS). The eighth convoy, consisting of 1,700 displaced families, set off for Efrîn in the early hours of the morning. The convoy, which gathered at the Şehîd Yusuf Gulo Junction in Qamişlo and moved toward Efrîn, has reached Efrîn.
 
Rojava Internal Security Forces Commander Mehmûd Xelîl (Siyamend Efrin), in a statement made following the last convoy to return to Efrîn, announced that returns to Efrîn have been completed. Stating that 8,720 families have returned so far, Xelîl said that approximately 1,200 families have members serving in military forces and that they will also be able to return to Efrîn whenever they wish. Xelîl said: "With the completion of returns to Efrîn, those forcibly displaced from the cities of Serêkaniyê, Girê Spî and Raqqa will now come onto the agenda."
