Prisoner Oduncu: We are being denied the medication we need

NEWS CENTER - Ill prisoner Zerdeşt Oduncu told his family during a phone call that prisoners are being denied their medication. 
 
Ill prisoner Zerdeşt Oduncu, who is being held at Bolu Type F Closed Prison, described the rights violations they have been subjected to during a phone call with his family. Oduncu said that prisoners are allowed to watch only one television channel and that they are being denied their medication.
 
His mother, Selma Oduncu, recounted what he had told her: “He said they have been deprived of their right to access the prison yard and are unable to see one another. He said the prison administration is subjecting them to mistreatment. Zerdeşt previously underwent hernia surgery. He needs orthopedic equipment for that, but he said that it has not been provided. He also said they have not been allowed to receive their medication, even when paying for it themselves. He said their health conditions are worsening, yet they are not being transferred for medical treatment, and that they are not being provided with clean drinking water.”
